Methodology, sources and corrections

A useful profile must be traceable, complete and easy to correct.

Our collection pipeline

  1. Official geography

    The municipality, region and RCM list comes from the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation directory published through Données Québec.

  2. Business research

    Brave Places and Web searches target chimney sweeping across Quebec cities. Contact details are cross-checked against company websites, public business listings and RBQ data when available.

  3. Quality control and deduplication

    Results outside Quebec, unrelated to chimney sweeping or without a valid phone are excluded. Phones, names, aliases, addresses, websites and licences support matching. Businesses sharing a name remain separate when their contact details distinguish them.

  4. Publication and correction

    For the September 20, 2026 collection, only listings with a name, phone and civic address were published. Other records remain pending completion. Some addresses are administrative. A business may request a correction or removal.

Sources and RBQ licences

Each listing retains useful public facts, their sources and the consultation date. An RBQ number is displayed when found. Its status states whether it appears in the official active licence list as of the indicated date or remains unconfirmed.

A missing number does not mean that a business has no licence. The collection is not exhaustive and contact details have not been confirmed by telephone.

Limits and responsibility

Directory presence is not a certification or endorsement. Services, insurance, availability, pricing and territories change; customers must confirm them directly.
